In my church in Togo harvest was very different. Women would gather crops, fruit and animals the day before and bring them in on baskets on their heads.
Everyone wore very brightly coloured clothes as they sang, played music and danced in celebration.
Then the pastor would sell back the blessed food to the people. Then they used the money that they received from selling the harvest for God's work.
The whole service lasted about two to three hours, if you were lucky! And sometimes celebration food was served to everyone afterwards.
