Ephesians 4: 1-7
Our membership scripture for 2012 has not just been plucked out of the Bible to adorn our membership cards. It has been carefully and prayerfully discerned as God’s word to Trinity for the coming year ahead. It is spoken by Paul in jail or at least under household arrest in Rome to the Ephesian Christians. Do you recall how in Acts 21 he had such a tearful farewell with them after sharing in the work of Christ with them over at least two years. It’s a congregation he loved dearly and one that he, acting wisely, handed over the leadership mantle to John the Apostle.
Sunday Message, 8th Jan 2012 – Relationship: No other way

1 John 2: 28-3: 24 (TM)
- Psalm 127: 1 unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain. I commented in September 2006 that perhaps Manners, the builders, need to know this! Since then the conviction has grown and grown and be borne out by testimony. Putting it straight it’s how churches are bult and grow: Psalm 133: 1 says where brothers and sisters dwell in unity there the Lord commands the blessing! Our goal back then was to establish a dynamic evangelical witness on Gosforth High Street, which wuld become dramtically public in March 2008. Relationship would be the how, unity the key and grace embodied in the Body of Jesus the way.

Psalm 85; John 1: 14; Hebrews 1: 1 – 4;
Christmas is a time of fullness. We’ve all had full diaries and I’m certainly looking forward to a few relaxing days. I’m sure we’ve all had full stockings this morning. We will have days full of sharing with friends and family. This afternoon, I’m hoping that I’ll be full of turkey and Christmas pudding…maybe a mince pie or two. I then intend to have a nice full sleep on the sofa before filling the evening with fun and games, maybe even some more turkey. More…

Sunday Message, 18th December – Lessons and Carols: Lessons that create the Jesus DNA
Written on December 19, 2011 at 2:23 pm, by Office Admin
Nine lessons and carols: a safe service to come to. Familiar fare wrapped in pleasant carols and ministry from the choir. Annual visit ticked off my Christmas list: now let’s get on with the real festivities!
Before the lessons began, we heard new dad Keith ask how far is it to Bethlehem: Bethlehem means House of Bread. In the time of Ruth and Naomi there was a famine in Bethlehem: no bread, then the famine broke and there was fresh bread in the House of Bread. A foretaste of the nativity of Jesus. This gives you the flavour of our lessons, for they tell of the Big Story that begins with the tale of a garden and ends with the city of Gold. These none lessons were not the result of some kind of ecclesiastical bingo: these are the lessons that create the Jesus DNA and call us to follow.
