Street Pastors is a Christian multi-denominational initiative with a mandate to make a positive difference in the lives of young people and to the night time economy. Pioneered in London in 2003, Street Pastors Newcastle was launched in December 2008 and serves the town centre and Whitley Bay 22:00–04:00 every Friday and Saturday night. It is now led by area coordinator Paul S. Waugh.
This ministry trains and equips Christian people to serve in a relevant way by caring, listening and helping. Street Pastors go into places of need, caring for vulnerable people, especially those who find themselves on the margins of society.
Trinity Church supports both Street Pastors Newcastle, Street Pastors Whitely Bay and the prayer and intercessory arm of this ministry, Prayer Pastors. We are passionate about sharing the love of God and making a positive difference in our city. Street Pastors is a fantastic model of ministry which allows us to fulfil this calling as a local church.
